Boutique Accounting in Seattle

– with a bit of an edge

Welcome to Nolan Nelson Accounting PLLC

My name is Ben Nelson. I started Nolan Nelson Accounting because I was tired of watching engaged small business owners receive sub-par accounting services from firms that don’t truly understand their business – or care enough to try. My firm is CPA-led. I run every client engagement personally. If you’re a small business owner in the Greater Seattle area looking for bookkeeping and accounting that’s truly in tune with your business, you’re in the right place. Book a fit call and let’s see if we’re a match.

Services Overview

I believe everything starts with the books. When your bookkeeping is clean and current, everything else gets easier – your cash flow makes sense, your tax prep doesn’t become a fire drill, and that feeling of financial confusion turns into clarity.

That’s what I do. CPA-led bookkeeping with AR, AP, payroll, and tax services that layer on when you need them.

Industries

I work best with two kinds of boutique businesses: Real Estate Brokerages and Attorneys & Law Offices.

Whether you’re a boutique real estate brokerage needing help with commission splits, agent rosters, or escrow reconciliations, or a small law firm navigating the nuances of IOLTA and trust accounting, I understand how your books are different from everyone else’s.

Ben’s Story

Before starting his firm, Ben spent most of his career at Costco Wholesale in Accounting and then Internal Audit. His experience spans bookkeeping, A/P & A/R, payroll, internal audit, and corporate finance – from Startups to Fortune 15 companies, and across multiple industries. His credentials complement his experience: CPA, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Master’s in Accounting, and QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor.

How it Works

1. Book a fit call: 20-30 minutes to talk through your business and situation.
2. I’ll communicate exactly what you need with an honest assessment and clear scope.
3. We get to work so that your books are clean on an ongoing basis. I check in monthly so nothing slips.

Your financials deserve better than a boilerplate solution.
